مدرار للفن المعاصر

مدرار هى مساحة للفنون بالقاهرة، وهى أيضًا نطاق تفاعل وتجريب وحوار يخدم ممارسات الفنون المعاصرة.
تهدف مدرار بالأساس إلى دفع الاهتمام بالفنانين الشباب وتزويدهم بفرص التشبيك والتطوير من خلال تشجيع أنشطتهم، فضلاً عن خلق مساحة للحوار والإنتاج والعرض.
تضم مدرار العديد من المشاريع، وبدأت بمهرجان القاهرة للفيديو، ومعمل مصر للفنون التفاعلية، مدرار تي في، ومعرض ومسابقة روزنامة.

مدرار يتم دعمها من الصندوق العربي للثقافة والفنون – أفاق ، من خلال منحة مقدمة من الوكالة السويسرية للتنمية والتعاون – SDC.

يتم دعم أنشطة ومشروعات مدرار من سفارة هولندا في القاهرة.

تم دعم مساحة مدرار سابقًا من خلال صندوق شباب المسرح العربي، مؤسسة للمبادرات الفنية، برنامج عّبارة – مؤسسة المورد الثقافي، وصندوق روبيرتو شيميتا، وشركة الإسماعيلية للاستثمار العقاري.

Medrar for Contemporary Art

Medrar sets the stage for artists seeking to have extensive conversations and collaborations with their peers to develop their purpose as active contemporary artists thus creating a more dynamic and inspired movement.

By tapping into this existing collective intelligence, Medrar encourages cooperation, over competition, among artists, locally and internationally, as well as between institutions, critics, and technologists to engage and experiment in this rich playground of media arts.

This non-profit collective, running since 2005, achieves this through hosting festivals, workshops, and events to stimulate the scene; providing a collaborative space for media artists; documenting and disseminating audio-visual content on the contemporary art movement in Egypt.

Medrar is implemented with the support of the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture – AFAC, through a grant from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation – SDC.

Medrar’s activities and projects are supported by the Netherlands Embassy in Cairo.

The establishment of Medrar’s space supported by Young Arab Theater Fund, Foundation for Arts Initiatives, Culture Resource’s Abbara Program, Roberto Cimetta Fund, Al Ismaelia for Real Estate Investment.
